Our approach to Physiotherapy is about education, awareness, and empowerment. Based on a detailed examination we will draw from the following techniques to address your problems: deep tissue massage, myofascial release, dry needling, joint mobilisations, postural retraining, craniosacral therapy, taping, electrotherapy and orthotic prescription. We will also devise an individualised exercise programme drawing from yoga, pilates and physiotherapy therapeutic exercise.
Having worked for 9 years at Milltown Physiotherapy Clinic, where there is a strong emphasis on women's health, Sinead developed a strong interest in this area and treats a wide spectrum of female conditions. These include pelvic pain, pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy (PGP), stress incontinence, urge incontinence, painful intercourse and vaginismus.
Yoga therapy is an emerging profession which uses the various tools of yoga to address specific medical conditions. Yoga has many proven effects on the body, including lowering blood pressure, improving lung function, improving joint health, improving psychological health, strengthening bones and improving bowel function.
Physioyoga combines Physiotherapy and Yoga Therapy for a more holistic approach to your treatment experience. The combination is an exceptional method for treating musculoskeletal pain and breathing disorders. .
Physioyoga is suitable for those who are completely new to yoga and is also ideal for those who have tried regular yoga and have found their practice to be limited by pain or injury.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle and subtle approach to health and healing. It facilitates the release of trauma or tension (both physical and emotional) that has been held in the body.
BSCT is an extremely useful adjunct to physiotherapy especially in cases where the system is stressed or sensitised, in particular conditions which are exacerbated by stress e.g. road traffic accidents, chronic pain, whiplash or tension headaches.
Sinead O'Loughlin is a qualified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist.
