Suitable for people with pain or physical issues whether it is back pain, neck, hip, shoulder etc. We do our best to group people with similar issues and with similar abilities together.
Yoga for Chronic Pain.
We incorporate aspects of mindfulness, relaxation and body awareness with safe and appropriate movements, using lots of props to modify poses appropriately.
Balance and Bones -for osteoporosis and osteopaenia.
Strengthen the bones with weight bearing exercises especially focusing on strengthening the thighs, lower backs and wrists, which are the commonest sites of osteoporosis fractures. Please bring your DEXA scan results to your first class, if available.
Connect to your baby and to your changing body while working to prevent the common muscular issues of pregnancy. Release tension around the pelvis, maintain strength in the core and tone in the pelvic floor.
Your body will have changed a lot during the 9 months of pregnancy. In Postnatal yoga we work to restore your pre- pregnancy posture, alignment and strength, whilst also paying attention to your pelvic floor.
Yoga for Breathing disorders
This class is specifically designed up open up the muscles of the abdomen and thorax to allow easier breathing, better lung capacity and improved breathing patterns. Suitable for anyone with a history of breathing disorders such as asthma, bronchiectasis or even panic attacks (where anxiety manifests as altered breathing pattern).
Great for improving posture and strength especially for those who are weak around the core as a result of a sedentary lifestyle.
